About the event

BLACK MOUNTAIN COLLEGE LUNCH & LEARN SERIES, with David Henderson, former director of The Johnson Collection, Spartanburg, SC

From the time of its founding in 1933 until it closed in 1957, Black Mountain College played host to some of the 20th century's greatest American artists - Albers, de Kooning, Rauschenberg, and Twombly among them. In this 3-part series, David and his daughter, Susan Henderson Kunkler, will bring Black Mountain College to life by sharing the history of the institution, stories of the instructors and students, and the impact both had on the landscape of American art.
